The first meeting of the vintage Airstream Board of Directors was held on June 29, 2009 The meeting was called to order by President Herb Spies at 8:27 a.m. who then led all in the Pledge of Allegiance. Guests were P Presidents, Bob Herman and Ed Emerick, and Librarian Forrest McClure. Absent were Treas. Jim Cooper and P Pres Shari Davis. A quorum was certified with the following present:

The minutes from the last VAC meeting in Bozeman, Montana were accepted as read.. Herb Spies read and accepted the Treasurer’s report of Jim Cooper. The balance as of April was $20,683.
Correspondence: Letters of resignation were received from Rob Baker, 2nd VP, Fred Coldwell, Historian, and Toby Folwick, Web Master. The President appointed Dallas Peak to move up to 2nd VP. President Spies had sent out of prior letter to all VAC members asking for volunteers to fill the offices of Historian and Web Master. He appointed Joe Petplinski as Historian. Tim Kendziorski was appointed as interim webmaster to implement the website. The current treasurer, Jim Cooper recommended via email to the board that the treasurer change jobs on a calendar year basis for Tax and Bank Records.
Committee Reports: The President summarized the annual reports published in the Vintage Advantage magazine.
Old Business: The Vintage Airstream Club Constitution and Bylaws was submitted to and approved by the WBCCI Constitution/Bylaws Committee. The approval notification letter was entered into the minutes. Scott Scheuermann moved, seconded by Dallas Peak to accept the new Constitution. Vote was unanimous. The President read the report of the Nominating Committee submitted by Chair, Shari Davis. The following names were submitted for VAC officers for 2010:
- President Scott Scheuermann
- 1st VP Dallas Peak
- 2nd VP Jim Cooper
- 3rd VP Jim Hildenbrand
- Secretary Sidra Spies
- Treasurer Jim Cooper and TBA to take officer in December.
This slate will be presented for a vote at the General Membership meeting on July 1.
New Business:
- Sound System – The board entertained a question and discussion as to whether to rent or buy a system. The Pres appointed himself and Scott Scheuermann to investigate all options and report at the next meeting.
- The board will recognize Kimber Moore and Tim Kendziorski for their work over and above what was expected. Discussion followed.
- The Best in Show Trophy – This large trophy is cumbersome and hard to get from and to the International Rally each year. The board is looking at options for this trophy. One was to permanently place it at Jackson Center and winner gets smaller plaque. Another was to have a virtual trophy on the website with name and picture of winner.The Pres, along with Concourse Chair, Paul Fancy and Scott Scheuermann will look into options with input of membership at the General Membership meeting.
- Bud Cooper, founder of the Vintage Cooper recently passed away. Cards are available for members to sign and a collection will be taken up for his Church as he requested. Pres. Spies will have an announcement read at the big evening program to explain his importance and that a black ribbon is f lying with member’s flags in his memory.
Announcements: There will be a Vintage seminar this afternoon at 1:00 in Rm. WA. On Wednesday, July 1 a 2nd Seminar will be at 8:30 a.m. in Rm. M-5 followed by the General Membership Meeting at 9:45 a.m. The 2nd Board Meeting will be held Thursday, July 2 at 8:30 a.m. in Rm. M-5. The Awards Presentation will follow at 9:45. The Vintage Pot Luck dinner will take place in the Vintage area at 5:00 p.m.
