Sure sound like a wonderful rally.....The Pocono Mtns. are fantastic.

You know, we'd love to add Keystone to the list of co-hosts for Pocono...

I'm sorry to report that both Gail and I have been expelled from the club for 2 years. That means that this rally is not only no longer a WBCCI Special Event Rally, it's not even a WBCCI rally anymore.

The reasons may not be so obvious. Expelled members are not allowed to participate in WBCCI functions, so as the rally hosts, we had no choice but to make this a non-WBCCI event. This is backed up by club attorney letters expressing how easy it is to cause confusion amongst the membership as to whose event anyone is hosting.

If your unit is not holding a joint rally with any external RV club in 2010, then your unit can carry on as planned and participate fully in this non-WBCCI event. If your unit is already participating with another external RV club for any 2010 event, then you have met your allowed quota for the year.

We still hope as many members from your unit will attend as possible, however you will not be allowed to have the rally itself on your unit schedule. You can still have a caravan heading both to and from the Pocono Raceway on your unit schedule.

Leo, correct me if I am wrong, this doesn't preclude any private Airstream owner from attending the rally, correct? I mean rules are rules but what actually prevents anybody from attending. From what you wrote, only "Units" as a whole may be limited, but there really isn't any reason that folks who were going to come to this rally as part if their unit can still attend it anyway without the unit?

Correct, we had as many as 5-6 units that had this on their official unit schedules. It is the units themselves that need to review how they can participate. Nothing precludes any individual Airstream owner, member or not, from attending this rally.

The units themselves could have risked having their charter pulled if they endorsed an expelled member to attend their function, hence the change.

See how badly the majority of an ineffective gaggle of seven can cause issues for the masses? Hey -- it's your club, it's not mine anymore...

My preference was to use the last act of defiance mouse with seven empty chairs in front of him as an avatar, but you know how that would have gone over...

I just thought I would let everyone know. Registration for the Airstream Owners Pocono Raceway Weekend Rally is now open. A little over 24 hours and we already have a dozen folks registered.

Why register early? Airstream Owners get a 15% discount on Grandstand seats for Sunday (Friday and Saturday Grandstand seats are included in the infield camping fee (an Airstream Owner exclusive). The best Sunday seats go the fastest -- so NOW is not too soon...

Hey folks -- I just wanted to give you a real quick update...

33 Registered and Paid Attendees to date!

AirPocono is getting some pretty good response. Even though we don't have nearly the number of people registered that say they are coming (the dogs!) we're three months away and already have 33 Airstreams registered and paid! That's pretty good in my book, but please, don't keep us waiting. Please check out all the details at:

and let's grow this second wagon wheel. You'll see a layout has already been done for 101 Airstreams, but we're not limited to any number! The more that come, the bigger the layout.

Between the freebies and discounts that the track is providing us, plus our own dedicated rally space, this is going to by an Airstreamer's rally like no other! Zoom zoom...

To date there are 46 Airstreams registered for this one of a kind Airstream Rally. Where will you be on July 29th?
