Just a quick note that I recently tossed out the idea to the Region 4 VAC Rep (Ken Faber) that we set up some VAC activities at the 2010 Region 4 Rally in Wauseon, Ohio May 18-23, 2010. Ken agrees that this would be a good idea. For those who may be wondering, Wauseon is about 30 or 40 miles west of Toledo.
Ideas for VAC type activities could include a vintage parking area (the Region 4 President is ready to set space aside for us), open house, polishing or other demo, some sort of vintage seminar, vintage films, and maybe a day trip to the RV Heritage Center in Elkhart, IN or to some Surplus/Salvage RV Parts companies (also in/near Elkhart, IN). Would you attend if something was set up? Do you have any other ideas for VAC type activities? Would you be interested in helping and maybe chair (set up) one of these activities? Speak up! It's been too long since there was any legitimate VAC activity in Region 4! Let's correct that! |

Joe,
Do you have any idea of the cost of this rally? We will be leaving the Dayton Hamvention a few days before that so it could work for us Rick 1602 |

Hello everyone, I am quite familiar with the Fulton County Fairgrounds. I run the judging for the Antique Motorcycle Club National Meet we have at this location July 21 or so every year. I know that it is to the right of the turnpike exit and can be seen from the turnpike if you are traveling from Cleveland. Many old trees around so there is some shaded spots. I do believe it is exit 3a. Smiths Restaurant next to the entrance/exit is pretty good for a meal. The town is nice and the folks around the fairgrounds are really helpful. Denise

I haven't forgotten about this thread. Lorrie and I just have just discovered a couple of potential conflicts that weekend and are not currently sure what we are going to do. It would be hard to promote a Vintage gathering at the Region 4 Rally if we end up not making it. It would be great, though.
As far as ideas, the western Ohio location (more or less) could lend itself to a day trip to the RV Heritage Center in Elkhart. IN and/or day trips to Elkhart or other nearby locations to visit RV Salvage or surplus parts businesses. Other ideas would be to offer a Open House or some demoes (e.g. polishing, etc.) or seminars. |

That is the same w.e. as the TCT annual gathering in Camp Dearborn Milford MI. This event draws near 200 various vintage units.

I have good news and bad news.
The Good News is that there WILL be some vintage events at this years Region 4 Rally in Wauseon, Ohio, May 18-23, 2010. Region 4 VAC Rep Ken Faber has arranged to vintage parking and is planning some activities such as an open house, a polishing demo, and a vintage oriented presentation or two. To learn more or volunteer to help, please contact Ken Faber: vintageairstreamclub.com/region-appointed.html The Bad News is that due to a family commitment, it appears that Lorrie and I will not be participating in this rally after all. That's our loss, but don't let that stop anyone else from participating. |
