I was contacted by Norm Beu (1st VP of WBCCI) a couple of days ago about the possibility of the VAC submitting a vintage related article each month for the Blue Beret. This is great news for those of us who love vintage. In order to make this a reality we will need members to come forward to write and submit articles. Any volunteers?

Scott,
As you are aware, I am willing to contribute an article from time to time (2-3 times/year) as long as I get to pick the topic. I think it will be great to get others to submit articles too. This way there may be more varied topics (historical perspectives, restoration articles, recent event coverage, etc.) for the articles and varied writing styles. Having multiple authors will also demonstrate that the VAC is not a one person show and may help counter some of the anti-VAC sentiment that I still sense in parts of the club. Plus it just doesn't put the burden of writing on just one person. I've got the March Blue Beret covered - look for an article about the 50th Anniversary of the Cape Town to Cairo Caravan in that issue. Who's next? The April Blue Beret submission deadline is March 1st. P.S. And look for several more in depth articles about the CT2C caravan in the soon to be issued next Vintage Advantage. |
